Rhytidectomy in Cancun

More commonly known as a facelift, rhytidectomy is a surgical procedure that reverses the visible signs of aging, specifically in the face and neck. It is a surgical procedure that repositions the fallen tissues and increases the soft tissue that has been lost as a result of age, gravity and sun exposure.

One of the most ways to remove or reduce the appearance of sagging skin and wrinkles caused by age, rhytidectomy improves the appearance of the neck, temples, cheeks, and jaw line. If you’re considering a Facelift surgery in Cancun, Mexico we suggest Clinica Nazareth with Dr. Alejandro Duarte y Sanchez Best Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon.

Benefits of Rhytidectomy

  • A facelift can give you a younger, healthier appearance. While you will continue to age, rhytidectomy takes years off of your face. Some individuals even experience increased self-confidence and reduced anxiety, particularly about growing older.
  • A facelift can reduce many of the most common signs of aging. It cannot, however, reverse the effects of sun damage, remove all facial wrinkles.

How it is performed?
A face lift can be done in isolation, or in conjunction with other procedures, such as a brow lift (front), liposuction, eyelid surgery or nasal surgery. The face lift is individualized for each patient.

Who can perform this surgery?
The best candidate for a facelift is one that has a face and neck that have begun to relax, but whose skin has elasticity and whose bone structure is well defined.

How long does the surgery last?
The surgery has a variable duration depending on the area or areas to be treated (forehead, middle facial or neck) and ranges from two to five hours on average. It is usually performed under general anesthesia, and depending on the extent of the surgery can be done on an outpatient basis or with a night of hospitalization.

How long is the recovery time?
The approximate recovery time to return to daily activities is five to ten days. In the first two days after surgery cold compresses are used in the treated regions.

What care should be followed?
Within the restrictions during the recovery period are: not sunbathing for at least a month and not make efforts for a few days. The patient can perform light exercise at approximately 4 weeks, and intense exercise between 6 and 8 weeks after surgery.

A certified plastic surgeon is the only specialist who has the knowledge, surgical training and experience necessary to perform this type of procedure under conditions of maximum safety for the patient.
